These terms are an agreement between you and Kobuddy (“Kobuddy”, “we”, “us”) for using the Kobuddy app and usekobuddy.com (together, “Kobuddy”). By creating an account you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.

1. What Kobuddy is

Kobuddy records your transactions from the bank alerts you send to it, organises them into categories and shows your spending over time. It is a record-keeping tool.

  • Kobuddy is not a bank and is not connected to your bank account. It can’t move, hold or send money.
  • Kobuddy does not give financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Any tips or summaries in the app are general information to help you understand your own spending.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and use a phone number that belongs to you.
  • Keep your phone and sign-in codes secure. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
  • Only send Kobuddy alerts for bank accounts that you own or are authorised to manage.
  • Keep your Kobuddy address private. Anyone who knows it could send emails to it.

3. Accuracy

We work hard to read every alert correctly, but banks change their formats and alerts can be delayed, duplicated or missing. Kobuddy’s figures may not always match your bank. Your bank’s own statements are the official record. Please check anything important against them, and tell us when something looks wrong so we can fix it.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t misuse Kobuddy. For example, don’t try to access other people’s data, interfere with or overload the service, reverse-engineer it except where the law allows, send it content that isn’t a bank alert on purpose, or use it for anything unlawful.

5. Free and paid plans

Kobuddy is free during the beta. We plan to offer a free plan and a paid plan with extra features. We’ll tell you about prices before you’re ever charged, and you’ll always choose whether to upgrade.

6. Changes and availability

Kobuddy is in beta. Features may change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Kobuddy after that, the new terms apply.

7. Ending your account

You can stop using Kobuddy and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk, and we’ll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.

8. Our liability

Kobuddy is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on figures in Kobuddy. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under Nigerian law.

9. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If we have a dispute, we’ll first try to resolve it with you directly. Write to support@usekobuddy.com.
